What's the catch?

This is supposed to be difficult, right? Because this guy is just so darn perfect for the job. Great. Fabulous. So far as I can tell, of course, and it was a great conversation despite my nervous self blabbering nonsense the whole time (I was thinking while talking "what is this crap coming out of my mouth?") Still, he wants to talk to us again on Sunday and set up a date for us to go visit him and his family, meet and talk some more, and then DECIDE. I think this is good. Really, really good. And the tarot card I pulled before talking to this fab PKD? The one about birth with the picture of a baby on it. I'm just sayin'...

It's The Sacred Circle deck. I love it because each image is a photograph and artwork put together (for example, the Queen of Cups is a picture of a real woman, but the stream she is sitting in is a drawing). And it uses tons of Celtic/Scandinavian traditional symbolism, which I love. The only thing I don't like about it is that each card has a word on it to decribe the meaning, and I think the way the authors set up the meanings is a bit extreme (for example, the 9 of Swords represents "suffering" to the authors, while traditional decks have a picture of a girl waking from a bad dream, representing unfounded fears). So, I interpret with another book, although I do like the background on all the symbolism provided in the book that goes with this deck. Longwinded, sorry. It's a great deck, though. -Kate-

I was just going to ask derangel's question. I am using the motherpiece deck right now. I love love love it.

How long have you read?

I've been reading (very informally) for a few years now, it's hard to say exactly how long. My first try was when my sister (derangels) gave me a deck and two books, including "The Goddess and the Tree" when I was a teenager. The Sacred Circle, I saw in a book by Ann Moura and loved it, so I found it at Beyond Words (my favorite bookstore, now closed!) I also like to use The Goddess Deck- a goddess can bring a new perspective to a reading and the deck also helps me get to know all different goddesses. -Kate-
